Why I Love my guild

I belong to Saecula Saeculorum (aka Sae Sae). I must say it is the most enjoyable guild that I have been a member of. To join you have to be invited by a member who knows you and will sponsor you. I have been a member of several guilds before and most have been helpful none have been the same a playing with friends.

And I love our guild rules (Zuramor is the guild leader)
There are only 2 rules within the guild:
1. Give Zuramor a hard time whenever possible.
2. Don't ever tell Zuramor to kiss your ass.
We all try to follow rule #1 and no one makes the mistake of breaking #2

Did I mention how much I love farming

So I dropped herbalism (because I never can find the time to run around and pick enough flowers to skillup) and took up skinning. So I have be killing anything that I can skin for the past few days. Last night I got to 300 and moved to outland to farm more leather and skill points.

I hate Farming

Let me be very clear, I HATE FARMING!
Unless Zmagicone needs gold I do not do it. I will buy mats and potions at the AH sometimes at inflated prices rather then farm them myself. I would rather spend the time doing what I want.

As the Wheel Turns

I happened upon the book The Eye of the World while I was in high school and became a fan of Robert Jordon. I eagerly awaited each new book in the Wheel of Time series and I still periodically reread the entire series. I felt guilty after hearing of his illness because along with concern over his health I wondered if he would be able to finish his last book. Robert put us all at ease with his engaging style and updates on his blog. I followed along and prayed for him and celebrated each success he had as he posted blog entries. Now he has pasted away I will still pray for his wife and family. I look forward to reading what he did write even if it is left unfinished.

Goodbye Sir

I am stealing this because it sums I what I want to say at the moment. My own thoughts later.

From evilsheep
The voice of the Dragon has been stilled. Robert Jordan, one of my favorite authors, passed away on Sunday, the 16th of September, 2007 after a lengthy battle with Amyloidosis, a rare blood disease that caused the walls of his heart to thicken.

For those of you who have not cracked the covers of his Wheel of Time series, if you enjoy fantasy in the slightest you are missing one of the greatest literary adventures of our time. Jordan’s epic writing style and talent for putting you in the scene were surpassed by few if any authors in the fantasy genre. He was working on the twelfth book in the series when he died, and the thought that he won’t be here to tell the rest of the story is heart-wrenching. However, don’t let that keep you from reading the books. After all, fantasy is all about imagination, so read the eleven books out there, hope that enough of number twelve was done to be published, and let your imagination fill in the ending. From every interview and article I’ve seen and read by Jordan, I think he’d be perfectly happy with us each having our own ending.

Losing an author like Mr. Jordan is like losing a friend, one I feel that I’ve come to know a bit through our shared love of the fantasy genre, and our mutual interest in the lives and deaths of his characters. His passion, wit, and wisdom will be sorely missed, but his work will always have a place in our library.

Best wishes to his family, his friends, and his legions of fans. Even though it sucks to say it as much as it sucks to hear it, he is now at peace, is no longer in pain, and above all, remember, he fought the good fight. And we all learned something from the way he fought it until the very end.

After realizing how many alts I have, I bit the bullet and deleted a few. I am now down to 16.

More on WSG

Time for some more of my thoughts on WSG. Take a look the map of the battleground.
Most battles start with a zerg for the flag with most players exiting by the graveyard and racing along the right side of the map(when facing the opposing HQ) to the ramp that leads to the upper entrace of the opposing force's flag room. Now if there are defenders there will be a skirmish in the flag room. The flag runner should grab the flag and head out. As a general rule the this is the only time it will be ok to take the flag out the tunnel. I like run the flag out by the graveyard stick to the far side of the map and head back to the ramp to upper entrace of my team's HQ. If all goes well the other team has not picked up your flag or has dropped it by now and you have a quick capture. It has not gone well the flag runner now has to hide from the opposing team until the rest of your team can force the other team to drop the flag and return before you can cature the flag. Once the flag is captured, rinse and repeat.
Important notes to remember:
  • Defend your flag. A small force of 2-3 people should remain in the flag room to stop or slown down the enemy.
  • Escort the flag runner. 1 or 2 people should stay with the flag runner to support, heal, and/or pick up the flag.
  • Stop the enemy flag runner. Simple enough you can not capture the flag if the enemy has yours.

One more thing, do not stay mid field and kill just for more honor kills.

WSG Strategy

This was the WSG holiday weekend, so I thought I would jump in and collect some marks and extra honor. What should have been a fun couple of hours turned into a frustrating experience. Now when I PVP it is a fact that I die .... often. As a mage this is normal. I see skirmish and join in only to be charged, kicked, counter spelled, silenced, and/or feared. This happens repeatedly until I am that squishy stuff on the ground ... dead. If I am good I can take a someone with me, If I am lucky I can take a bunch.
But what bothered me is the total ignorance of the basic premise behind WSG. It is a simple game of capture the flag. Someone please tell me why I was in a hour long game and I was the only alliance even trying to get the flag.

My Blog Hero

Big Red Kitty
He caused me to roll a hunter. And I thought a mage could dish out the dps, then I played a BM hunter. Just need to get pudin and sweety up to 70.

Hi, my name is Big Jon and I have altism.
22 toons and counting. 1 70 an nothing else above 44.

I might have a problem.
I have come to realize that I love to pvp. There is just one problem, I stink at it. Sure I get lucky every once in a while but mostly that I play the role of that sticky smear of a mage that everyone trips over. :)

/Reloadui

So I started this blog and promptly ignore it. Well I am back and going to take another crack at blogging. Lets see how I do.

Thursday, July 19, 2007

Hi, Hello, and Welcome

So I am starting a World or Warcraft Blog (stop groaning and hold your applause until the end). I am a casual wow player and have been playing for about a year now. Zmagicone is my level 70 character, he has lots of brothers and sisters in their 20;s and 30's. Z1 has been doing a little raiding, a little pvp, and a little farming. This blog will be about Z1's adventures and those in his alt family.
